The TelaDoc membership service provides access to a network of licensed, primary care physicians who diagnose individual medical problems, recommend treatment and prescribe medication (when appropriate) over the telephone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Because an estimated 70–75% of all primary care medical cases can be diagnosed over the telephone, TelaDoc has created a more cost effective and more convenient way for employers and employees to access medical care. TelaDoc offers both cost-containment and value-added services for self-insured organizations and un-insured or under-insured consumers.

With TelaDoc you can:

Reduce your company’s health care costs. TelaDoc can potentially save the average self-insured organization $200 per employee per year! Medical consult fees cost about the same as a co-pay and are far less expensive than the cost of a PCP visit, an urgent care facility or an ER visit.

Improve competitiveness in the marketplace. The TelaDoc service can reduce absenteeism. Employees no longer have to miss an entire day to go to the doctor for routine illness. Diagnosis occurs within three hours, getting employees and their dependents well faster. If medication is appropriate, the script is phoned into the patient’s pharmacy (usually within 1 hour).

*International Policy – Members with residences in the United States may call TelaDoc when traveling abroad only if they can be contacted at a U.S. number (i.e., cell phone with American phone number). TelaDoc physicians will not be able to call international numbers. The physicians will be able to offer advice but cannot prescribe medications for members traveling outside the United States.
