My Electronic Health Record

TelaDoc believes that you should be able to access your health information wherever and whenever you want, and share that information as you see fit. We provide you with a free, secure electronic health record (EHR) that allows you to organize your health information in one secure place.

  • You create and control your EHR.
  • You decide who can see, use, and share your information.
  • You can download and print your EHR anytime.

How is it used?

  • When you request a consultation with a TelaDoc physician, he or she will first review your EHR in order to gain an understanding of your medical history and make the most informed decisions.
  • When your TelaDoc consult is complete, the doctor will update your EHR on your behalf.
  • You have the ability to access your EHR anywhere, any time via the Internet. You can also send this record to any other healthcare providers using simple delivery tools.

What are the benefits of having an electronic medical record?

  • Better care. Through your EHR, TelaDoc physicians have access to your medical history before every consult with you. A doctor on call doesn’t have this information.
  • Convenience. Your EHR offers you a way to store health information from many sources in one location, so that it’s always organized and available to you online.
  • Coordination with your PCP. After every TelaDoc consult, the doctor updates your record and you can give consent to share this with your PCP to ensure the best possible coordinated care among all of your healthcare providers.
  • Portability. This record is yours and goes with you wherever you go. If you change doctors, jobs, insurance policies, or locations your EHR remains the same and can be used as you see fit.

Is my information secure and private?

The security and privacy of your personal medical information is of the utmost concern for us. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. All data is in an encrypted form that meets standards defined by HIPAA, and is stored on computer servers in controlled facilities. All data transfer is executed using similar standards that meet HIPAA, and no data is transferred to anyone unless you have requested it. Your information will be used exclusively by the consulting physicians and only for the specific reason for which you submitted it.

Note: Before you can request a consult with a TelaDoc physician, you’ll need to make sure you set up your account and complete your medical history disclosure for your EHR.
