TelaDoc Celebrates its 1,000,000th Member

Millionth Member

On Tuesday December 4, 2007 TelaDoc recognized its 1,000,000th member and presented her and her family with free lifetime TelaDoc memberships. The recipient, Susan Escalante, and her family will enjoy this benefit long into the future.

TelaDoc flew Mrs. Escalante and her husband Albert to Washington D.C. from California; they enjoyed two days of sightseeing in our nation’s capitol in addition to an awards ceremony at the Dirksen Senate Building. Later that evening, the entire CDHCC conference offered a champagne toast to Susan and TelaDoc’s CEO Michael Gorton. This was a fitting climax to an exciting day for her, her family and TelaDoc.

Former Wisconsin Governor and HHS Secretary, Tommy Thompson, gave the keynote address in the Senate Building. Also in attendance were California Congresswoman Barbara Lee and representatives from several House and Senate offices. Several advisors and board members of TelaDoc were present, and mixed with them were leaders from the healthcare industry. The tremedous response from government and industry lead to a standing-room-only crowd.

Susan is a member of the Service Employees International Union-United Long-Term Care Workers Union (SEIU-ULTCW Local 6434 in California). SEIU-ULTCW Local 6434 has made TelaDoc available to over 140,000 deserving healthcare workers in California.

TelaDoc is quickly moving towards their 2,000,000th member and beyond.
