Dallas-based Teladoc, which bills itself as the nation’s first and largest telehealth provider, rolled out its physician-facing product at the HIMSS12 Conference and Exhibition this past February in Las Vegas. Called TeladocConnect, the service is designed to enhance the physician’s services.

Highmark, a large Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurer in western Pennsylvania, offers some members option to consult with doctor via Internet when they are experiencing a minor illness.

Highmark is teaming with Teladoc Inc. to offer members around the clock access to a physician for a fee of $38 per session.

Teladoc, the nation’s first and largest telehealth provider, will unveil its new telehealth solution for physicians — TeladocConnect — at the 2012 Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition (HIMSS12) being held Feb. 20-24 at the Las Vegas Venetian Sands Expo Center, booth 13328.

In its first full year of contracting with Teladoc for telehealth services, Rent-A-Center reported savings of more than $700,000 in healthcare expenses and lost productivity.
