Telephone Medical Consult Process

- Member requests a consult with a physician by calling
1-800-TelaDoc (1-800-835-2362) or by logging on to his/her account via www.teladoc.com.
- Physician reviews the member’s personal Medical History Disclosure (MHD) prior to consultation.
- Physician calls the member
in most cases within an hour. The doctor will always call within 3 hours guaranteed or the consult is free.
- Doctor recommends therapy or treatment or refers patient to PCP if necessary.
- Doctor updates patient’s medical file based on the encounter and any reported changes.
- Prescriptions, when appropriate, are phoned to patient's local pharmacy. TelaDoc physicians will not prescribe DEA controlled substances.
- TelaDoc provides access to receipts for deductibles or reimbursement when applicable.

TelaDoc is not an insurance company, drug fulfillment warehouse or advice line. We do not turn patients away because of pre-existing conditions. Also, TelaDoc does not guarantee prescriptions. It is up to the physician to recommend the best treatment. Our physicians consult and recommend treatment – they offer more than a textbook response.
