We all have tough moments and tough days. But when everyday challenges start to wear you down, it helps to have a professional by your side to sort through the difficulties.

That’s where Teladoc Mental Health visits come in. Through phone or video appointments, Teladoc therapists and psychiatrists can help with any of the following:

  • stress
  • anxiety or feeling overwhelmed
  • work pressures
  • sadness
  • relationship conflicts
  • grief
  • trauma and PTSD
  • mood swings

“We have many options: psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors and social workers who can meet your unique needs,” explains Dr. Aron Wolf, lead psychiatrist for Teladoc. “We provide confidential and supportive video or phone visits to help you manage everyday challenges.”

Find my therapist

Here’s the how-to so you can get started with your visits.

Take that first step

Deciding you’re ready for therapy is the most important first step. Next, you’ll want to schedule your first appointment. Using Teladoc is seamless and stress-free. After logging in to the web or mobile app, you provide some basic information. Then, you can choose what type of provider you’d like to talk to: a psychiatrist, psychologist, clinical social worker, counselor or therapist. While they may have different titles or letters after their names, they are all licensed in the U.S. to provide quality mental healthcare, and Teladoc psychiatrists can prescribe you with certain medications.

Find the best provider for you

In the app, you can review provider profiles. This allows you to learn more about each provider, including their gender, languages spoken, specialties and a bit more about them as individuals. You can also use a quick, five-question, wizard-like tool to help you pick a provider based on your answers. Your comfort with the process is the highest priority.

Schedule a visit today

Most of our users are able to schedule their first visit within a few days and request the time that works best for them. Providers are available to talk with you seven days a week.

Next, you’ll fill out a brief emotional health questionnaire for background. After that, the provider you’ve chosen will confirm the date and time. You can meet the provider through video chat using a computer webcam or through the Teladoc mobile app. Smartphones or landline phones can also be used. You’ll talk with your provider just as if you were in person.

Here for you as long as you need it

You can keep seeing the same provider throughout your treatment. Or you can always switch providers until you find the best match for your unique needs.

You can schedule your next visit at the end of the current one if you’d like: they typically last from 45 to 60 minutes, although follow-up psychiatrist visits are often shorter.

The high-quality mental health specialists of Teladoc truly tailor care to support you in your time of need. Always secure and confidential, the providers are professional, caring and invested in your well-being. Get started on your journey today.
