I grew up in England and have two children, who are 15 and 16 years old. I’ve been married for 25 years. When I was 11 years old, I decided to become a doctor. I’ve been in practice for 25 years.
I’m very passionate about primary care and ensuring families have good access to quality care. I think the future of medicine and our ability to deliver primary care really hinges on using health information technology and telemedicine. By coming to Teladoc, I feel that I’m going to be part of a innovative mode of delivery for the future that is really going to help bring to fruition a better primary care foundation.
I’m trained in family practice and preventative medicine. My uncles were doctors and I was just fascinated with the whole concept of primary care. In fact, my uncles were GPs (general practitioners). I thought that it was quite wonderful that they would do house calls and have close relationships with their patients. They would get to know the families and help patients get better medically and within the context of their lives.
